This is a nice bag. It carries my precious 2.45 shaku iaito with a bit of room to spare and is padded - a significant improvement on the sword bag I owned many moons ago. The service from Nine Circles was very efficient.

Price so low and quality so high... that is the perfect ratio! Strong, very good padded and very good materials. Absolutely not a cheap bag!

I bought one of these sword bags at the beginning of May 2012, initially to take my own bokken to class and then from mid September 2012 an iaito once or twice a week. The bokken is a grooved one and the iaito is a 2.5 Shaku Kurin Stainless Steel, both also from Nine Circles. I typically carry this on a pushbike and on crowded trains for different parts of my journey, so on a class day it might get about 1 ½ hours in total on the bike and the same on the train. This review is after 15 months use. The Good: The bag seems well padded and well made. It is better than the alternatives that I have found- e.g. overly large shinai bags. It does seem to be rain proof and my sword has stayed dry in transit. The Bad: This bag is only just long enough for my sword to fit into. Unfortunately the anchors for the shoulder strap are not ideally placed for a sword of this length and I have to carry it upside down across my back over one shoulder because otherwise it will swing forward at the bottom.
