These clearance items are fully functional and safe for practice, they only feature cosmetic flaws, the nature of which is indicated in the dropdown list and stock chart for each piece individually. These are grooved Shinken suitable for advanced Iaido practice, they are not recommended for Tameshigiri (test cutting).
These Kurin Shinken are unique in the current market in our opinion. This is because these swords are not replicas converted for practical use, they are made specifically for martial arts practice, drawing on thousands of years of tradition and sword making knowledge to produce matchless performance compared with similarly priced weapons on the market. These swords are of an excellent balance and weight and we are confident that in their performance they will match even the finest custom made Shinken.
These Shinken feature our top quality hand polished, T-10 high carbon steel blade combined with highly functional blackened steel hilt fittings and Tsuba. Blades are fully forged and feature stunning genuine Hamon, accentuated through skillful polishing alone. All hilts are tightly wrapped with cotton Ito and have an underlay of authentic Same (rayskin). All swords come complete with a cotton Sageo and lining bag.

Warning - These swords are extremely sharp, Nine Circles does not accept any liabilty for any injury caused through their use. We do not recommend practice with a Shinken unless highly experienced and you are advised to do so by qualified instructor.
