Traditional Iroha pattern – the classic poem, Iroha, has its origins in the Shingon sect of Buddhism around the year 1079. The poem uses each of the Japanese syllables once only, a perfect pangram which has been adopted for all manner of linguistic and organisational purposes and is firmly ingrained in historical and modern Japanese culture. An English translation of the Iroha is as follows:
Although its scent still lingers on, the form of a flower has scattered away. For whom will the glory of this world remain unchanged? Arriving today at the yonder side of the deep mountains of evanescent existence we shall never allow ourselves to drift away intoxicated, in the world of shallow dreams.
Fold over-tie top fastening – this traditional fastening method offers an intrinsic flexibility to adjust to the length and diameter of the weapon you need to transport. Suitable for a single sword with Tsuba in place.
Side access – designed to prevent your sword from slipping out easily, the side split is wide enough to allow use with swords up to 2.65 Shaku in length.
Lined interior – adding strength and a smooth final finish to the bag interior, the lining fabric doubles the body of material keeping your sword safe from scratches and bumps.
