Recently bought an Okuden shinken, and I love it. Following an explanation and detail of the manufacture, I was more than happy to purchase. Having spent many years training in Japan, and using shinken there, using this one is no different. The balance, weight, fittings and finish are all first class, and I would highly recommend them.
Service as always is fantastic from Nine Circles, so hats-off to Quentin, Martyn and the team. Thank you very much.

Nice quality! Wonderful Balance!
I bought this Okuden Kurin shinken for my Iaido practice about 1 month ago and I must say I'm surprised it's this good. I didn't chose this sword instead of the chuden series because of the leather wrap of the tsuka, but for the light and slimmed blade combined with the nice fittings. The leather wrap was just a bonus, looking really good. Pros: light, slimmed, very well balanced, nice and tight tsuka-maki. I didn't think it was possible to get this quality for this kind of money. I have compared the sword with some much more expensive japanese swords with about the same shape and weight. The only thing that I can see and feel is diffrent is that the Kurin swords has a bit more curvature on the blade. If really looking at things that could had been better, then I notice: Large and clumsy habaki - this could had been nicer done with a more slimmed habaki, matching the blade better. This results in the koiguchi getting very large also. The saya feels a little clumsy, but it is not a big issue.
