Video Tutorial: How to roll Test Cutting Targets

Posted On: 5 March 2021

We’ve made this quick tutorial explaining how to roll one of our Straw Tatami Mats and create your Tameshigiri target.

These mats are rolled into various thicknesses, soaked in water for 3 days, and then allowed to dry for a day before cutting. The resulting target is supposed to then accurately represent the consistency or resistance of the human neck or limbs.

Don’t forget to let your target dry for 1 day before cutting.

You can find everything you might need to practice Tameshigiri, along with sword display solutions, care sets and components HERE.
