Built in the style of the renowned swordsmith Dotanuki Masakuni, known for creating the strongest, most durable swords which would endure the toughest battlefield conditions, the Dotanuki Koshirae clearly channels the spirit of utility over aesthetics.
These extra strong, extra heavy pieces pair deeply furrowed blackened Guribori hilt fittings, with a wide chunky blade for the ultimate heavy weight Iaito.
Available with three blade styles, classic, Unokubi (lower groove with Mune side blade section) and Daikissaki (long tip section). The Dotanuki model also features a matching Guribori Kurigata (Saya boss) which can be combined with the whole range of specialist Saya lacquer options on offer.
The Dotanuki Koshirae is not for everyone, but if you are looking for a heavyweight sword that will last a lifetime of serious practice, it absolutely fits the bill.
