This 103cm Iwama Ryu Bokuto is a fine example of the long Bokken preferred by the Takemusu Aikido lineage following the teachings of Morihiri Saito sensei.
Crafted from Shiro Kashi, the traditional Japanese white oak favoured for its ideal balance between strength and flexibility, these classic Aikido Daito have a straight consistent grain and beautiful natural finish.
Suitable for both solo Suburi and partner work incorporating contact practices, the Iwama Bokken features a squared off Kissaki (tip), improving safety and complying with regulations for many Dojo and associations.
A comparatively straight Bokken with a Sori (curvature) of approximately 8mm, the thick cross section and chunky grip add to overall weight and add an element of grip training, perfect for Aikiken and Iwama Ryu specific practices.
