Each sword is hand crafted to the highest standards and is available with a wide selection of options.

Standard features on the silver Tokujo Iaito:

 

Blade - Standard weight sand cast zinc aluminium alloy with groove.

 

Ha (Cutting Edge) - Standard (unsharpened).

 

Tsuka Ito (Hilt Binding) - Cotton binding in Hineri Maki wrap style.

 

Tsuba (Guard) - Blackened cast steel.

 

Fuchi/Kashira & Menuki (Hilt Fittings) - Antique silver alloy (high percentage genuine silver).

 

Habaki & Seppa - Standard Brass.

 

Saya (Scabbard) - Hinoki with genuine Urushi lacquer.  See individual sword images for colours and finish.

 

Weight - 800g-950g approximately (dependant on blade length and fittings).

I've just received my new Iaito from nine Circles. I'm delighted with it. I've gone for a lighter blade (I'd had my old one for 40 yrs and as I get older it's starting to feel a little too heavy). I went for the leather hilt binding option and am really pleased with it. It cost quite a bit extra but is definitely worth it. Overall, a great product the like of which I doubt you'd find from any other UK supplier.

I have received my sword and have used it a few times now and I just wanted to tell you how much I love it!

It looks amazing, even better than I expected! And feels lighter than it is due to how well balanced it is. It sounds great too.

I wanted to thank you for all your help making this sword happen, I would recommend Nine Circles to anyone!

I received my Iaito and the quality is something else. It feels as light as a feather despite being 2.5 shaku. It is a real pleasure to own, never mind practice with.

Great timing as well it is my birthday tomorrow.

Nosyudo Tokujo: Iaito - Silver Custom Made
Iaito arrived today and I am very pleased. Excellent service and communication as always from Nine circles. I went for the lightweight option this time and customised with a "dragonfly" theme. Silver koshirae is "stunning". A little over 100gms lighter than my normal iaito, this one will go easy on my joints during those long seminars. I am naming her Karui Tsubasa (Light Wing).

Custom Tokujo - Silver
The sword is superb. Everything about it is just perfect. The quality of materials and the craftsmanship is exquisite. However, the best part is how this sword feels when cutting: solid and balanced, like a part of my body. The best iaito there is.

Tokujo Iaito - Silver Custom Made
Just received my Tokujo Iaito - Silver Custom Made Katana and Wakizashi (Daisho). Received earlier than predicted. All fittings were identical and both swords were really well presented with no flaws whatsoever. Thoroughly chuffed with my first ever sword/s purchase.
