Extra Thick Premium XL Cutting Mats - 90cm Width and 40% Thicker!

 

Makiwara or rolls of straw mats are a traditional material for creating targets for test cutting.  These premium, extra thick mats give thicker, more challenging targets using less mats than standard Wara material.

 

Mats are rolled into a target. soaked in water for 3 days, and then allowed to dry for a day before cutting. The resulting target is supposed to then accurately represent the consistency or resistance of the human neck or limb.

 

Simple to prepare, an average target would consist of 1-2 mats held together by cable ties for a professional finish.

 

Supplied with black edgings, these mats measure approximately 180cm x 90cm.
